My husband started the early dementia stage of PD round about last August. He is now on Galantamine to help with this, but had to stop taking Mirapexin with helped with mobility. He had some homeopathy which got him more mobile, and then earlier this year I read that coconut oil could help with both memory and mobility. He has been taking it for a couple of months now, and his memory and mobility are certainly pretty good. Friends all say how much better he looks now. He saw his consultant last week, and told him he was taking coconut oil now. The consultant said that quite a lot of his PD patients were using it. It's not very pleasant to take, but it can't do much harm, and does seem to do a bit of good if you are having problems with memory and/or mobility.

The thought of the calories in the stuff put me off.

I'm going to get the kind that I can put on skin (getting many dry, flaky, itchy spots, a side effect of PD, and also cook with. Let you know.

I use it for cooking and on my body for dry skin! I also mix it with cinnamon on toast or English muffin. I keep a jar in kitchen and in bathroom! But I do not mind the taste. Many ways to use! As far as calories, when used in place of cooking oils and butter, it's much better for you and equal or less than the calories in some things! If it helps this much it's worth it to feel better! Everyone is different. Just my opinion! Great on dry hair too! But use first and then shampoo! Go to Swanson's.com for great prices! I am not affiliated with them in any way! Just like their great prices and at times no shipping in USA!

Blessings,
