I have asthma and sometimes joke and cough until I throw up. Getting all of the junk out makes me feel better.

You should seek tests for chronic lung infections because the antigens produced by the infection are one of the causes of the chronic inflammation which causes Parkinson's. The relief given by coughing up the rubbish probably reduces the antigen load.

yes i do too, often the coughing gets everything so irrirated that i end up with bronchitis. they have told me i also have sojorns(sp) syndrome with goes with pd and fibromyalgia which i have also it is a drying out of all mucous membranes and thus they said everything get too dry and causes the coughing and vomiting don't know if this is the problem but that is what they are looking at that in my case

I have Allergic Asthma, and developed it before my diagnosIs of PD.. So, I don't see the connection to it. Yes I have those coughing prolems, but I also have Allergic Rhinitis.. with a post-nasal drip down my throat which makes me cough, especially when lying down on my back. In fact, my allergies are bothering me now, here in Eugene, OR.,.. the allergy capitol if of the US.

I am replying to my own post..not everything that goes on in our bodies is necessarily related to PD! I believe that even though our bodies are a complex system of actions, or whatever.. allergies, or other respiratory symptoms don't have to ALWAYS relate to PD. Sometimes it's just an allergy. Period.

I found that a teaspoon of honey helps with the cough and sooths the throat.
