i have just reduced requip and increased modopar to deal with OCD behaviour. Ive been warned about becoming depressed as a result anybody had similar experience?

No i havent heard that one before and i can't think why it should happen. In my experience my low mood is usually due to low dopamine and is resolved with madopar.

I got really depressed when I tried Sinamet so I stopped taking it. The depression was harder to cope with than the PD. Talk to your doctor and hang in there. I'll be praying for you.

I've had no depression only joy and relief after getting off dopamine agonists and starting sinimet. In fact, I experience the sinimet as a bit of an upper especially taken with an espresso!

I found it a bit of a shock to the system to change from a dopamine agonist to Levodopa. I actually was told to totally stop Requip for a few weeks before starting Madopar. I too had OCD. Sewing, baking! Brought out a creative element in me that was not very good but nevertheless enjoyable.

I was not depressed at all but missed the creativity and confidence I had with DA's.

I think your PD care team are being very sensible by reducing DA doseage and upping Levodopa. Do not even think of depression just ease into the change. If you want to chat feel free to contact me I am here. xx
