HELLO, HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT USING THE Wii FIT GAMES AND BOARD? THIS HELPS MY BALANCE PROBLEMS A LOT. I ALSO PLAY Wii SPORTS ( MY TENNIS PLAYING IS AWFUL BUT VERY GOOD FUN). THE BALANCE BOARD REALLY MAKES ME AWARE OF MY BALANCE AND POSTURE , I CAN REALLY RECOMMEND IT XX

From the "WiiHab" Blog - you may find more info there: wiihabtherapy.blogspot.com/

This article references a game called "Rail Runner": the-scientist.com/?articles...

***There's a link at the end of this one that I can't access because my iPad doesn't allow the use of Flash Player. It may lead to game information*** UCSF Nursing School study on Wii use for people with PD: kotaku.com/5851644/a-secret...

This article includes a link to some things PwP should know/do before starting a Wii program: parkinsons.org.uk/advice/li...

And...for anyone who might give you crap about whether or not Wii is appropriate/helpful, here's an article from PubMed. Science backs up the use of Wii (and similar systems) as a way to increase balance and coordination for PwP: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/222...

I do agree with you all. I have been training with Nintendo Wii for about 4 years now, and I really like to think it's been helping me a lot. I use this balance board where the point is to shift the balance from left to right. I use Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports and other training programs. I need some inspiration to get out of my chair, and Wii is fun. And I like boxing with Wii. I have Zumba and other dancing lessons, and it's not easy to co-ordinate arms and legs. But that does not matter! Nobody sees me, and I have a workout.

By the time I have done the housework, cooked, done DIY or hobbies.

I have had enough exercise and I'm just a chap.

Used my Wii a lot. Wii fit games on the balance board are all good, with different challenge levels of balance, coordination, and mental awareness. If your ego can take it, it will track your progress (or lack of). Also, the yoga gives feedback on timing and weight distribution. Wii Sports and Sports Resort can be fun and the levels adapt to your performance. Depending on your comfort level, create a L hand player and a R hand player to help your non-dominant or more affected side and mental L-R thinking. It is awkward at first, but I found it very useful and instructive. For the ultimate challenge, play yourself in tennis: your R hand Mii vs. your L hand Mii !! Above all, keep moving and have fun.
