Been thinking about asking for change to the patch, how do you feel digestively wise taking the patch vs. the pills? Pills are just killing me and was wondering if changing to the patch would fix it.
Pills are certainly no good for me. I was warned of the side effects of the patches before hand but have had only a slight feeling of sickness/tiredness
I can go up to 8mgm patches but really am quite happy with the 2mgm
I will report how the alternate days work out I do think it is the best way forward.
The patch has been wonderful for me & enabled me to do things I haven't been able to do in a long time - like drive & do my own errands. I qualify for DBS, but will put it off if I can get the patch, but insurance is not covering it. Is anybody getting coverage? The 4 mg. is $441 and can't afford that. Sleep is not an issue as I take a pill concoction for sleep as have done for yrs. Good luck!
I was in the clinical trials (2003 - I dont remember but they were free for several years and loved them. But when I retired they become too expensive so I went to Requipe and works fairly well and a lot cheaper. Its all about the money! So the pace has always been profit driven and the CEO's need to maintain their life styles! Its the American which is better many than others maybe? They just need to show more compassion and lower their prices which is unlikely!
wynn Can you tell me do you sweat a lot more with the patch.Do you chage the patch in the morning or at night . Do they work on your arms and legs? where do they work best ?
yours EXPORT.
Forgive me answering the question you asked someone else.
I thought perhaps another males perspective may be of some help.
They do seem to work in all the places you stick them. Beware though of body hair, you need to shave very well, they will not stick if any body hair is present. you need to find a different place every day and not repeat that area for fourteen days (according to instructions)
I believe they do make me have that occasional hot sweat but it calms down. I did get a letter from the Parkinsons nurse before taking them to be aware of feeling sickness and let them know (I didn't feel sickly) they certainly are very good.
I had problems keeping them on when bathing but if you warm the patch before applying, I find it does not come off in the bath or shower.
