should I let my meds wear off for my "big" London consultation?

Do you reckon I should let my meds wear off for my consultation so they will see firsthand what I am talking about. I often feel if have a consultation fully medicated it's hard to be heard or understood. Any tips?

Best to contact the office staff and ask at UCLH prior to your consultation with Dr Jarman or Professor Lees.

My thought ... yes. Show them what you've got - the raw and real PD Yogibear - and let them be brilliant ... because they are brilliant!

Whooohooo UCLH! GO GO GO!

Be well. Carry on strong.

Im glad you found them brilliant. I had one good man jonathan eastman and he disappeared. Second time awful one who frightened me anddidnt listen..just wanted to pop pills down my throat. I thought it was a wonderful building but rubbish for any making patients feel at ease. Nothing nice on dull walls ,queues of nervous people and not a nice canteen with camomile tea or anything healthy for sale. No sense of caring. no genttle music etc

I dismissed myself from them as my report was inna curate as well.

Very closed for a university hospital . Dismissed any alternative methods...i found them pure scientists not human beings there. But thats just my impressions.

To each their own perspective. I acknowledge and respect yours. Go hilarypeta Go!

I am a Researcher ... and very human. I communicate and understand scientists and science. My perception differs from yours. Our differences make up the beautiful variable tapestry that is humankind.

Patients are the Navigator of their medical care. Patients have the freedom and the right to choose their own medical care path. Be as hilarypeta is ... your own advocate. Be an empowered patient. Make choices that are acceptable to you and to yours - what ever the logic or reasoning may be.

There are many options for patients.

If you require alternative methods go with it some methods are effective for some patients. If you require proven scientific fact based methods go to a MD where ever they may work. If you require plush interior design, with a grand piano playing, with high tea offered, with a 1:1 ratio of patient to medical care staff go to a luxury private Hospital and pay.

Be well.

Carry on strong.

I am not against scientists only against pharmaceutical companies who push their toxic drugs..and ones to counteract their bad efffects onto innocent patients. I worked as areceptionist and saw doctors being given rewards..even holidays for presribing drugs from different companies. I see research undertaken by companies not being interested in finding a cure..only in making money selling their latest drugs.

Certainly i am for each individual choosing their own way to health. Im just against being taken for a ride by anybody or company natural or not, for money not health....

Medicine is a business. Like any business - the 'buyer' must beware. Awareness is key for all patients.

Patients must protect themselves, empower themselves, and make as informed a decision as is possible for their own medical care. Limit the risk. No assumptions can be made. Life is too precious.

There is much that requires improvement in all areas of medical care.

It takes strong intelligent people / patients like you to promote awareness and to demand better.

Your voice is heard here on PM ... and your sentiment echoed by all. None should be taken advantage of - full disclosure must be required. Find a cure.

where are you coming from for this consultation? When is it? hat station do you get in at in London?

Can probably give you a lift to Queen's Square. I have a motability car, so parking is free and I am congestion charge exempt.

Adrian you are very kind. What a lovely gesture. Nouska I love your positiveness and am taking in those good vibes. We will be travelling from the Channel Islands so it will be London Victoria. We will get a cab no worries. My referral went through nearly three weeks ago so waiting patiently for the appointment. Good idea to speak to the office staff beforehand I am armed with questions and my notes!
