Hi everyone,
I have been referred to the above hospital due to "wearing off" causing dystonia problems. Has anyone been for treatment? I am hoping for miracles (smiles).

Is that part of the UCLH in Queen's Square? (University College London Hospitals) If so, that is where I go every 6 months. To check, is your consultant Mr Jarman?
I find them excellent.
Adrian
Thank you. My Consultant will hopefully be Professor Lees.
Yogibear.
I believe it is a worldclass unit with some internationally recognised leading staff. Also a very good neurosurgery unit. Perhaps the best unit in the country but there are many good neuro units. Hope it goes well for you.
thank you everyone. Adrian yes it is UCLH and your Dr Jarman is listed with Prof. Lees. I am hoping they will come up with something good.
Do you reckon I should let my meds wear off for my consultation so they will see firsthand what I am talking about. I often feel if have a consultation fully medicated it's hard to be heard. Any tips?
I would suggest trying to communicate with the doctors b4 showing up non medicated...they might need you on your meds or they might need you off of them for a prescribed length of time, etc.

PS: DBS manages my dystonia symptoms very effectively
.
Srandt what does it feel like daily with DBS?
