Walk? I could have run all night.

I have found, in the course of avoiding traffic, that I can run better than I can walk. Great, I'll just move around at a steady trot. Wrong, I'm so unfit this joy of motion does not last, just like another Joy of ..... something,

I will however investigate further and blog a little tune if it works, if I have enough breath left.

This is not all that uncommon. I am able to run and race walk reasonably well, yet need a cane in slow moving, crowded situations. I have heard of a number of people who are also able to run. Once I get moving (the first step or three is alsways a challenge) i CAN KEEP MY BALANCE AND MOVE WELL. It also appears that aerobic exercise is good for this illness, so use it to your advantage and start building up your endurance and enjoy running.

Run Tony Run.

Take it step by step, build your endurance, and soon you'll be fast walking / running once again. Maintain your mobility as best as possible for as long as possible.

When running the legs cycle through a point where both feet are off the ground. Support - Drive - Recovery. Knees bend absorb. Altered center of gravity. Dependent upon springy tendons. Leaping freely from one leg to another.

There is little to no recovery with walking. One foot is in contact with the ground. Legs mostly straight. Controlled consistent center of gravity. Dependent upon large muscle groups. Transferring body weight directly from one leg to another.

For inspiration : 2012 Olympian Oscar Pistorius. Courage defined. True grit.

Adjust adapt endure overcome survive thrive.

Carry on strong.

From long distance runner me.
