Has anyone had dealing with the Brain stimulator. For Parkinson Disease.?

Brian stimulator? Is this DBS surgery and implants? If so I had this surgeyr 4 10 12. What did you need to know?

They can insert one electrode on each side of the brain... one to control the lelft side, the other the right. That's in case the tremors are only present on one side of the body.... but my tremors were equally horrendous on both sides (bilateral), so I got electrodes on both sides.

That is my wish for you as well! For me at least, DBS has been nothing short of miraculous. The neuro said it wouldn't help w/my freezing and swallowing difficulties, but both of those disappeared immediately after the DBS as well.

Husband had DBS in 2010, 2011. Amazing. He uses power tools again. Wish there were a surgery for dystonia. Never any shaking. Freezing now starting when Rx wearing off. PD since middle 90's.

DBS has extended my usefulness to my family and myself! It takes care of the tremors but not the curves that stress and other uncontrollables send this disease. I'd have to say life is much better with it even though I still depend on some meds.
