Consider increasing my Parkinson meds. Don't know what you are on but i take it as a sign that I need to review.

Hello

Besides the usual bunch of PD meds., I am on Tramodol for the pain of a spinal injury. Max dose 2 x 50 mg capsules 4 times daily, but I keep to the minimum needed (This is usually 3 single capsules daily), and grin and bear the rest of the pain, but it is not as bad as it sounds. My mind seems to have absorbed most of this pain as "normal" and I only know the Tramodol is still working if I forget one, or if I overdo it physically.

Check this out with your GP.

Good luck

Adrian

I try to ignore it in case it goes away, if not take 2 ibuprofen + 2 Paracetemol (safe to take together) I think pain is just something we have to take in our stride try to find something that works personally.

I wish you all the best

Therapeutic Massage helps my husband. Took him awhile to agree to one but now appreciates the benefits. That plus acetaminophen since he can't take ibuprofen.

a) consider if it's time to take sinemet every 3 hours now for me (b) I have Pat's Pain Oil made for me by aromatherapist (3) aspercreme (4) half a xanax twoce a dau (5) consider ibuprofen or stronger as last resort (6) stretch out and sleep -- fatigue contributes hugely to dystonia pain (7) do something to take my mind off it -- chant, chat, watch a movie (b) laugh at myself--am I enumerating this list or what?

It depends! Are you having muscle pain or muscle cramps? If it is muscle pain, is it from over exercising, nerve pain, or from Parkinson's. If over exertion from movement, ice packs reduce pain and inflammation. If it is from nerve pain (sometimes caused by Parkinson's, I take 400 mg of Gabapentin and/or more Sinemet (Carbidopa/Levadopa 25/100 mg). It is good to use as little C-Dopa/L-Dopa meds as possible because they become less effective as time goes on. Therefore, increase your dosage to get past the pain, then start exercising more so you can gradually reduce the amount you need. Hope that helps some. Also, check with a movement disorder specialist.

When I first get up in the morning I can hardly walk I'm so stiff, but I usually just move around and it gets better. For the first time in several years I feel lke doing things duing the day. I have a small wood shop and love to putter around. At the end of the day the real fun starts. When I set down to rest my legs and feet start to tingle and cramp, and my lower back just kills me. The only thi.g I take that reslly seems to help ia a n-said, aleve, but it seems to cause intesrinal bleeding. Caused my hemeglobin down to 6.8 once, that was a 2 unit emergency visit to the hospital. So I'm very carefuL about that now. I guess I mostly try to tough it out, put my mind else where.

SUFFER!!! As humans we have fewer rights than other animals or vegetables - though in the case of many so-called professionals treatment as a vegetable is as good as it gets.
