Having discussed this subject with my neuro it was agreed that it would be better if I continued to smoke. The dangers of smoking are well documented but I was advised that it could be detrimental to my condition if I stopped. You pays your money and you takes your choice

how many would u smoke i havent asked my nuero yet afraid of wat he mite say hoe long ave u got pd

My husband had smoked for years but pretty much quit in 2007 after his PD diagnosis since he was told it was harmful. It has been 5 years and he still occasionally smokes a cigarette but I haven't seen any difference either way. Everyone's PD is different so what may work for one may not work for another. Hope it helps you!

Sorry for delay. have been off the radar for a while. PD dx'd June 1999. I'll let you do the sums. LOL. I smoke a pack per day. Neuro says ok. A friend of mine who has PD told me that his father had PD and after he gave up smoking he deteriorated quickly and died within 18 months. I am not trying to scare folk and smoking is bad for you generally so you have to make a choice, neither are good.

Obviously many smoking related illnesses are terminal whereas PD is not or at least not directly so.
