It's new it's new that's all read or hear when does it really happen ? Why does it take so long I know the goverment is always involved I understand they want to make sure it works and safe but it seams when there is something it stalls for years. What happened to fast track to get it tested more quickly ?

I can understand your frustration with the drug-approval process, but it was designed with our safety in mind. In America, unless a drug is in what are called Phase III clinical trials, there is no way to predict if it will ever come to market. Some drugs also flunk Phase III.
More on Phase III -- the experimental study drug or treatment is given to large groups of people (1,000-3,000) to confirm its effectiveness, monitor side effects, compare it to commonly used treatments, and collect information that will allow the experimental drug or treatment to be used safely.
It still frosts my Twinkie when the FDA can approve a swine flu vaccine with in the season like they did a few years ago. It seems the process can get done if it affects multitudes or some congressman's family...... sorry just sayin!
