Can anyone recommend a good supplier of mucuna pruriens?

I am re posting this reminder to people reading. It was posted on an earlier blog.

There is a natural form of L-Dopa found in the bean Mucuna Pruriens . As it is a form of L-Dopa it has has the same potential side effects as other L-Dopa medication. Because of this it is important that anyone considering this option do not self medicate but take it under medical monitoring.

I am taking it under dosage prescribed by my neurologist. He is monitoring me but cannot recommend a good supplier.

I took Mucuna Pruriens for a time some eight years ago now.. I have yo say that i did not really get on with it. I ordered it from a pharmacy in Delhi - sadly I cannot remember where this was but a search on Google should shed some light. Hope this helps. Tony xx

My doctor says only order from EU suppliers as their regulations for herbals and supplement industry as far as standards and oversight of purity, dosing, and consistant potency is the best. Most countries, including the US, do not have gov't oversight so what is in your capsules could be half sawdust or any filler.

actually not suppliers...labs and manufacturers...any supplier can sell product from India, make sure product is formulated and manufactured in EU

Ive got mine from swansons...not sure where they are but got it from Amazon. Went to see neuro today..mine has left and got to see a young one who wouldnt agree to my taking mucuna pruriens at all. Just trad drugs...feel very low as other one was prepared to discuss dosage and progress. Would not listen to requests for neck nerve tests, seeing movement disorder specialist or hand specialist ..what is the Nhs coming to? They are stuck in the dark ages..of symptom repressants...not cure or listening to your patient. I tried to tell him about. Jobn coleman and getting it being due in my case and some others,to toxicity and childhood trauma..not interested. I,d formulated my recovery plan and daily implementation of it as i,d seen it at present and he wouldnt even look at it... Sorry for grumbling..its just fresh in my mind. He also said pd patients suffer from paranoia and obssessiveness!
