I've never seen a question like this..can u contact your police department over your computer. Sounds like you need a home health provider. You may need to go to emergency at hosp. do you have a phone near by. Hopefully someone else will see this and offer you advice. you may need to contact ambulance. Hope you get better. God Bless You joss
Joss will u please let me know if anyone sent u a message. I contacted moderators because I am new to this site, also newly DX w/PD. Are u ok? Well not sure why noone is answering your post. It concerns me. Prayed for u. I hope u were at least able to read my answer. Please try to get someone else to come check on you..NOW
When my meds aren't correct for me I had times of not being able to move my legs.
Since the change in medsI haven't had that problem again.
Cannot help you but you obviously need some support, have you family, friends you can call on. If you are newly diagnosed the treatments do start on a low dose at first and you maybe still coming to terms with the diagnosisand iand still in shock. Hopefully you will get the attention and advise you need soon. My husband has had PD for 17yrs now and still going strong good hrs and bad hrsbut still leads an active life when medication working Get some support as soon as you can / I've said a prayer for you too. Good luck, and do not be afraid to use this blog x
It is good that you were able to post here and though we aren't suppose to give medical advice I am sure folks can relate to what you are speaking of and will offer good advice. Meds are a serious issue and there are many side affects to deal with till the proper dosage is worked out sometimes...It is scary not to be able to move your legs and like others have shared here you do need to reach out to someone nearby that can respond quickly if you feel you are in trouble...There is no shame in needing help!!! Pleas keep us posted on how you are doing.... Casey i NH
Hi Joss, As you are newly dx'd with PD it would seem to me that the strength of sinemet that has been prescribed may well be too high. I don't know your symptoms so it is difficult to give specific advice. I'm not a medical person but after 13 years of PWP I have learned a thing or two. Can you list your symptoms please and maybe other will be able to help you as well.
hi drew, thanks everyone for ur prays. yes im a mess this us the 1st time ive ever used a site but dont no what is happening. Basal Gangia or something get my things in order they said have no idea no one to talk abou it.i stayed pretty cramped from 11am to 4.55pm then had few hours normal???? rang my Bowen therpist who came to iron out my stiffness and cramps so picked up.Its now 9.30 cramping but to scared to take meds and go through it again.
Im not sureif to take because i feel worse if i do need someone to talk to but dont no where to go.
have told my dr this but she keeps telling to make app where else do u go. dont worry been doing this for days but every dose is so different.
thank u its makes it nice to think people out there care
Joss, I to had a diagnosis of CBGD in 2005. My daughter-in-law investigated and found the name of an "authority" in CBGD, who has seen many cases... His name is Dr. Weimer at the University of Maryland.
He told me that I was misdiagnosed and had Parkinson's and not CBGD. I just felt I had to tell you about my experience.
Joss, sorry to hear of your plight, you must be feeling pretty desperate. I guess from your map location you live in a remote spot. I've looked up Sinemet on the net and it confirms that you shouldn't tamper with your meds, certainly as you are newly diagnosed. After a couple of years it may be possible to adjust slightly with experience.
Not much comfort I fear but no-one but your consultant can really advise. Is it possible to get in touch with them by phone? Or is there an emergency service you can call.
I agree, Helen. Joss, I'm glad u r ok. I looked u up on the map, too. I am in Texas, USA...hopefully u will contact your dr/provider/Bowen group/pastor/family/someone...even a neighbor could help make a phone call, but whoever you appoint/choose to help you has to know exactly what is going on..meds are very serious, for example, if you are taking psych meds, or pain control meds, you can accidentally forget what you have already taken and accidentally double dose. I had to call ambulance for my son, who unfortunately has a mental chemical imbalance and takes many meds, well anyway, he accidentally took medicines twice because he was confused from the first doses. Ok, Joss, don't know if I make any sence to u at all but, being newly dx and new to the site, I'm learning it's ok to reach out and its ok to ask questions, its ok to feel emotionally upset. What I want you to hear is that you need to get a social worker or someone near you to be able to check on you. Meanwhile, I care, and don't have answers can only speak of my experiences and what I need to do when I find myself in a desperate situation. Please reach out, make a phone call asap...get the help u need... u need and deserve it. Wishing u many blessings and praying you will find local folks to help you out. Let your primary dr. know what is going on. I don't want you to be afraid. Please keep reaching out.
