For about an year I started to have back pain which comes and goes but lately is very strong. The pain disappears if I stand or sit but is very strong if I bend forward or when raise up from a chair. I do not feel it on the spine but muscles and tendons in the low back area.
Anyone else has this issue? Is PD related?

I used to get it all the time before my diagnosis. One minute I didn't have it the next I did, and it stayed with me for a few months and then all of a sudden it was gone. I remember it in my back and it did hurt quite a bit.

I have something similar - severe low back pain on getting out of bed, , when straightening up. The pain is really severe, it is all I can do not to call out, The pain stays while I walk the short distances to the washroom, but after a few minutes, the pain goes.
I can’t think it is serious as it lasts such a short time, but it is hard to explain.
I rejoined Parkinson's forum again today and believe that folks are giving more insights than other forums and that is giving more help like me to grab more ideas for symptoms fight. learned about thiamine hcl from this forum and am thankful for all for explaining thiamine benefits.
I have cerebellar Ataxia but are most of the similar symptom! my confusion about disease made me join this forum earlier and have known this family quite sometime.
Regarding BACK PAIN, i faced the same condition for almost 4 years and just now a month ago i got re-leaf after adding Gabapentin to my regimen.
I started a month ago 200 mg X day (100mg AM and 100 mg PM). The re leaf is to be noticed a big considering years to have it.
my back pain is severe when first getting out of bed or if I have been sitting very long. It has improved immensely with stretching and magnesium supplement
I also have severe backpains , but did you know that people who have Parkinsons disease suffer more than other people? All people have a pain reducing system of their own, but when you have Parkinsons, it doens’t work properly. I am sorry i can explain this beter, my english is not good enough!
I have spinal stenosis and compressed discs in my lower back. My pain is unrelated to the PD diagnosis. I used a lower dose of gabapentine (it took the edge off a bit) for a while, but still had to use a walker. So, I went to a pain clinic and had cortisone shots. Now I can walk again (still can’t stand for long periods of time) with only 3 ibuprofen in the morning. My neurologist recommends PRP therapy, but it’s not covered by insurance and is pretty expensive. Cortisone therapy is a mixed bag from what I understand. It works for some, but not for all and I will likely need more shots in the future. I also did 6 sessions of PT and that was extremely helpful. If I miss a day for some reason, I am in major pain for a couple of days following. All the best to you as you seek help. Back pain is no fun!!
