Can't breath?

Have any of you had an experience where you couldn't breath in or out? My husband just did. He was napping and I was dosing off next to him when he woke me gasping. I asked what's wrong and he jumped to a sitting postion. He took a deep breath and said, I couldn't breath!!! he said it he felt like he could not inhale or exhale. Very scary!!

He might have sleep apnea. It would be worth your while to have a sleep apnea study done....talk to your doctor about it and good luck!

Sometimes I feel like I can't breath too. It's not when I'm sleeping,but when i get over tired or doing a strenuous activity like walking up steps.

I sometimes give a deep gasping breath as if i have been shallow breathing and then need a big gasp for air. I. Think maybe when stressed or where there is air conditioning?

Yes, in my case it was an anxiety attack. Anxiety is apparently very common with PD.

i tend ot choke on food orjust early morning choking and cannot braathe or speak 4 a while

i ahve PSP and kwno i tis part oft he condition but iit si frighteningi iwen it happens

Hi IWFE OF PARKY

I had to GOOGLE IT WHNE I GOT HTE IDAGNSOSI back in dec 2010

and htis adn hte PSP WEBSITE rgreat for finding out how it faffects us

ITisI a type of parkinsonos but a differnet part of the brain is affecrde and nto by dopamine but tau protein!!

it cuases problems with balance

/ co ordination/

communication (speech and typign /handwriing illegible)

swalllowing

/ inconitnenceetc

eyes close and blinking is afffected and hte downgaze is poor

etc

and there r no mes for it

but i am upbeat as it explains a lof of my health probs in reccent yearas

I was up most of last night with John he said he couldn't breath . And got frightened . It's the mucus build up in his throat which makes his worse , . I give a a spoonful of of mucus cough med to see if helps to clear it . I think it does a little.

It's like as if the breathing pattern is not working , cannot breath though nose and out of mouth to relax .

Maybe when he falls into a nap his head drops forward and chest caves in a little as well ,it presses on organs .
