Has anyone with PD tried venlaflaxin? My neurologist suggested using it instead of Citalopram, an SSRI I've been taking for years. He believes it may help relieve my daytime sleepiness and lack of energy.
My reservation is that when I tried stopping the citaloprama few years ago, pre-Parkinsons, it left me in a very bad depression which set me back years...
Thanks for sharing any relevant experiences!

I have been using Zarelis 75mg. (trade name) for about seven years, when I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. It was prescribed to me in consideration of my strong state of anxiety that resulted from it. I feel very comfortable and it is helping me, in fact it is very suitable for anxious states, depression, panic attacks...
Hubby was on Vanlafaxine for many years. Once you start, it’s very hard to get off. But we spent most of a year titrating down and finally stopped it a year ago and I do think his daytime sleepiness was a bit worse after stopping it. It’s always been bad though, on or off of vanlafaxine.
