I'm inspired to get into really good shape and am thinking of starting crossfit training. I'm a skinny 61 yr old woman in moderately good condition and health (exercising almost daily for past 3 years but not intensely for the most part), mild PD symptoms, but I'm a little afraid to jump into this. Hoping to build muscle mass, energy level, endurance and improve mood...
I'm looking for encouragement, help me get going on this adventure! Or if you've been thinking of this too, let's do it "together" and cheer each other on...

Bailey is the one to talk to about Crossfit. He's an animal when it comes to doing Crossfit. Just be careful and don't get hurt by doing too much. Good luck!
Good to know! I am also thinking about getting one of these. I have a chiropractor friend that has one in his office. He loves what it does for his patients. He suggested one for me to potentially help keep my symptoms mild.....willing to try anything!
After taking part in this website for a couple of years I am firmly of the opinion that exercise helps EVERY Pd patient feel better, even though it does not necessarily affect the progression of the Pd.
I have also found that patients with walking and/or balance problems have all been able to gain benefit doing FAST WALKING, with or without other forms of exercise. That is capable of slowing down the progression of Pd. In my case it has reversed many of my symptoms.
The good news is that patients with walking problems have got the chance to positively influence the progression of their Pd. I'm afraid that I am unable to claim the same for those who do not have walking problems.
I know that this is an old post but I started doing crossfit a few months ago twice a week and I think it is fantastic. Just have to go easy especially at first to make sure you don't hurt yourself.
