Here are the three links, 1. in English, 2. in Japanese (you have to translate) 3. unfortunately only in German (I have a meeting with Prof. Alt on Tuesday, he is treating in Munich/Germany).

As I understand it, it is injected into the nose/bloodstream...

I will report further.

It remains exciting!

I would be curious to see if and when this will be available in the US, and at what cost. Also I would be curious to see their research data and hear from the failures.

I’m a physician who’s just begun using autologous stem cells for a variety of conditions. I’m sorry yours didn’t help. Were you given your own cells or umbilical cells and how many infusions did you receive? Thanks

I think it is also done in Europe

How would these cells travel from the places where they are inserted into the patient to the substantia nigra, and then transform into dopamanergic neurons? It seems unlikely, but it nevertheless appears to have received government approval in Japan for PD treatment.

Either government approvals are easy to get in Japan or there is something about the mechanism of this treatment I don’t understand.

Anyone have a better sense about this?
