I had to make this post just to get to use that mouthful at least once!

Researchers in the UK (affiliated with ZOE, if anyone's familiar) have discovered that regular coffee consumption is associated with the presence of this intestinal bacteria. It was recently identified, and not a whole lot is known about it but it is a butyrate producer, so perhaps that contributes to coffee's benefits in PD?

Clostridium Butyricum is also a butyrate producer...

I believe it's not just one species that needs to be focused on

Totally agree! And since many butyrate producers are not available as probiotics, I'm a big proponent of prebiotics. Also not opposed to taking butyrate orally. 😊
