The Impact of Diet on Parkinson's Disease
Thank You!
Im most interested in this topic; thank you for posting. This appears to be a summary of various past studies. I skimmed the abstract until I noted this statement: "plant-based diets and those rich in POLYUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS have shown promise in epidemiological studies” … In other words, a diet rich in toxic seed oils is showing promise of some kind… uh-oh… I stopped reading at that point. I encourage anyone interested in diet’s importance in Parkinsons to read Dark Calories by Dr. Cate Shanahan. It’s an eye opener.
You know, I agree with you like 100% (I use butter, avocado and olive oil almost exclusively) but I still think you're better off not to stop reading when you hit a patch you disagree with. I guess you never know what new research will come down the road and just change everything we think we know.
When I was a kid, partially hydrogenated soybean oil (trans fat) was MUCH healthier than old-fashioned butter, and my VERY science-minded parents were totally convinced. It took a lot of bucking the trend to go backwards to butter again.
I'm not saying I think seed oils will be proven healthier (blecch please I hope not) but I think it's a good idea to keep reading :o)
