Air travel issues with a Vibrotactile device

I just finished making a pair of VibroTactile therapy gloves and was wondering if anyone out there has done the same and has tried to get them through security and bring them on a flight?

I have not, but is it possible to put them in your checked luggage? I would doubt you have any issues thst way.

appreciate your response however I'm just worried that they would be confiscated because on a couple of occaisions I have gotten to my hotel ,opened my suitcase and found a little note from TSA stating that they inspected the contents of my bag. Not sure if it was just a random check or if they saw something on x-ray they didn't like. The controller for my gloves is inside a plastic box and it's full of wires so it could be perceived as a bomb. The safest thing would be to just leave them at home I guess.

Thanks for your response👍

I took mine inside my carry on bag on a flight to California and didn't have any issues with TSA.

I think you will be fine. I have taken various microcontroller devices etc on planes and never had a problem. You could always pack them in a separate small case or small bag to make it easier for you to pull them out if they want to inspect them. I think they see a wide variety of "vibration devices" (ahem.... excuse me, what?😱😂). If you use Li-ion batteries, make sure they are properly marked, unplugged etc.

What variant did you make? Any symptomatic relief?

That's funny😆 Maybe I should package them to look like a big (you know what). I made PDBuzzboards latest iteration from his video "Motorshield Gloves Update" and I just finished them so I have only about 4 hours of use so far🤞

Thanks

I stopped using my buzzboard/gloves as the motors kept burning out/down & it was too hard and too inconsistent having to repair & a lot of down time. Anyone else have same experience? Sometimes think about trying again.

Who uses gloves or board and does or doesn’t get relief?

Would anyone be willing to build a buzzboard or simple glove for a friend of mine on here as he gets no relief from anything as of yet.

Which brand motor did you purchase? I'm using the more expensive Amazon ones recommended by buzzboard and have not had any issues for 4 continuous months. I do get relief (reduced stiffness, reduced rigidity, less charlie horses, practically reduced everything but tremors); however, it is short-lived from hours for some symptoms and days for others. I do want to point out, I'm using a dual controller/cpu vs single. I'm not sure if the single controller is more effective. Brauncs may be able to see if the single controller is more effective after a few months of usage.

I was just looking at motors yesterday and the Vibryonics motors from Digikey are about 46 bucks for 10 but they are rated at 15,000 rpm and the Aediko 12,000 rpm motors from Amazon are 14 bucks. Which ones did you use stlewy?

Thanks

Oops, that was 14 bucks for 30 of them.

You need to remove any li-ion batteries and take them as hand luggage. I've flown 4 or 5 times now, as both hold and hand luggage (but the batteries always hand baggage) and encountered no issues.

I had the same situation. I was flying to Skipold airport in Amsterdam just a few days after I finish the love I elected to put them in check baggage rather than go through security for my carry-on. However, I have traveled about five times in USA never been asked about, these items which are my carry-on given how funky they look I’m actually a bit concerned that they haven’t asked, perhaps their equipment is more sensitive and is looking at more parameters I am aware of.
