last April2023, I had a bad fall, hit my head on a curb... no concussion evident. I left for my planned vacation 3 weeks later. Went on vacation feeling a little fearful of where I was at physically. While in Australia and touring back roads and hikes with my friend who lives there, I got stronger. Each day we had little activities planned, a bike ride at sunset, awesome hiking trails, swimming at lake Frazier...seeing kangaroos in the wild... I was getting stronger. I realized upon returning home I needed to up my activity level to get stronger. I continued when I returned home with all kinds of physical activities without over taxing myself. It took going on vacation to see the difference my activity level made in my health.

Thanks for sharing this . because you are absolutely correct . The thing is that I have learned this over and over again. I hope you can keep it up . I can not explain why I can not keep it constant or why you achieved more on vacation it seems to come in waves.

The trick might be to avoid vacations. I read if you enjoy your job you'll never need a vacation. I worked 6 days a week for 35 years. I only left the practice for continuing education classes and seminars.

You sound like you love what you do. Medicine, vet, DDS, law. Happy for you.

You previously described that you were always extremely available for work, even in the evenings and nights. Do you not think that this may have contributed to your PD and previous diseases?

I started making mistakes in drug dosages and surgeries. I thought I was burned out and needed a vacation. Instead I needed dopamine. A lot of PD patients were/are hard-driving workaholics.

Thank you for your comments and encouragement. Vacation is magical for me. Thoughts, ideas, experiences, awareness and people pop up. Work is great but doesn't provide me with the opportunities I get with vacationing. Often I go with an intention and it's amazing to see how it gets rolled out.
