My glove upgrade lost its buzz..

Hi,

My PD/Tass glove prototype seems to have lost its “buzz” when my partner swapped the old/vinyl look (on the right in the picture) with the clean new look (on the left in the picture). Using the SAME power/arduino etc. it seemed that it should work great until I put them on my hands and realized that I could BARELY feel the motor buzz on my fingers. I mean it’s hardly noticeable. When I switch back to the previous one, the motors are as robust as all the ones I have seen out there.

Basically, on both L and R gloves, We replaced the corresponding wire harness on each glove with the much neater and manageable package that contains the female RJ45 on board. The board is marked “Vibrotactile Stimulation Glove” and the (model?) 6504566A_Y4.

My partner is away, and I don’t know where he got this, so I am looking for the sharp eye who would know why this is not working. To my untrained eye, the wires going to the finger motors are really thin.. Any thoughts out there? See picture for side by side comparison. Thanks in advance for any observations.

The dynamics of the entire glove has changed, chances are because the material has changed so has dampening effect which most likely absorbed more of the vibration from the motors (with the new material). Either bump up the power or find a new frequency that works ( of course the new frequency may not be as beneficial to your PD symptoms) or simply stay with the original material

Not sure this is the best place to troubleshoot. Feel free to reach out directly. As a first step, I would try putting a rubber band around a finger to press the motor against the fingertip. Likely, the motor is vibrating at the same rate, but being allowed to move away from the finger.
