For years I would self-medicate by injecting my own blood into a muscle. The idea is the injected blood causes elevation of the white blood cells for a week. I'm hoping it keeps alpha-synuc under control.
I thought I was done when I could no longer raise a vein in my arms. Blame it on cold weather. But just to see, I tried inserting a butterfly in my barely-visible hand vein. It filled a 12cc syringe easily. I posted a You-tube video of Dr Maori who did this into his 90's.

I developed a blood clot in my arm; Deep vein thrombosis. The pain was serious. I'd been studying PRP: Platelet-rich plasma. I watched Dr Moura's video. A fellow doctor had a DVT in his arm. It responded to the PRP. I tried it and got relief from the clot almost instantly. So I started using it in my vet practice. Where it seemed to work the best was allergies. Dogs will wear the arm down to the bone from constant allergy itchiness. When I was just starting practice strong steroids was the only thing that stopped the chewing. But over time chronic steroid use led to Cushing's disease. PRP worked better with no side-effects. In cats chronic steroid use often led to diabetes.
