Upcoming appointment with MDS questions

I have an upcoming appointment with MDS this week and was thinking of asking them about having a Dat scan done along with having my vitamin B and D and also insulin levels checked. Has anyone had these checked before and do you think it is worth it? Also would you have any other questions to ask?

Diagnosed 2 and a half years ago taking c/l 25/100 3x a day which I have a hard time with. Too much dyskinesia in the facial muscles. Maybe another med? Also have soft speech and swallowing problems. Going to therapy for speech and swallow which is helping , but still have a lot of mucus buildup in the throat. I exercise vigorously 5 days a week which I am pretty sure is helping me out. Starting to have some sleep problems now though that I didn't have before .

If anyone could think of any other questions , I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Lou

The Datscan is not particularly reliable and makes sense only if there is doubt as to your diagnosis.

Among the B Vitamins, B6, B12 and B9 are probably the most important ones to get checked, in order of importance.

Agree with Park Bear, I had a DATscan to get a diagnosis as no response to drugs. More important were the memory tests as this is affected in several procedures particularly invasive ones

It is nice to have at least an MRI as a baseline to compare against, should you be hospitalized or have more serious progression down the road. We never reference hubbies DAT.

IT was the DATscan that convined me I had PD. I went to 11 neurologists and they all said I had PD based on subjective tests and the fact I did not respond to levodopa (I have no tremor)DATscan showed a smaller lit up area on right side of my brain which controls left side of body . I drag my left foot
