Under the tongue use of carbidopa/levodopa
Please look up Parcopa. It melts in your mouth.
My husband has difficulty swallowing. He takes his levadopa carbidopa tablets with a mouthful of water, he chews them and swallows the whole lot. I know this wasn't your specific question, but I thought it may be helpful.
Thank you for responding. I asked my neurologist about it and all he said was "give it a try". I'm finding that it not only works, but it really helps me regulate my "on' times because I don't have to worry about the levodopa going thru my digestive tract so coordinating with meals is no longer an issue. My only concern is that it my be harmful to the tissue in my mouth.
Cheers, Craig
I take the CL ODT pills. They dissolve quickly and work faster. However my last two times of ordering they’ve been out of stock. My neurologist, suggested using the regular CL and crushing them up and putting them in green tea or some thing and drinking it or she said you can just chew them and swallow them with water.
I quite often use Madopar sublingually usually on empty stomach. It melts very quickly and immediately after I eat some nuts or a few bites of light food in which there is no sugar or protein. The effect of Madopar is fast and with the normal durability. I have been doing it for years and have not noticed any side effects..
I’ve been told (neurologist I think) that the molecules are too large to be absorbed sublingually, however there are many stories of this working!
I thought the receptors were only gastric? I wonder if combining NMN with it would increase absorption and mitochondrial function as well? We need our pHD guys on that…..?
