There are those who believe in God and those who believe in Science and maybe believe that the pandemic is over because of vaccines that don't immunize. To each his own religion.
Good morning Gio, Live and let live. If you don't harm others with it, that's fine. Moreover, if it helps you drink Lourdes water or pray in a mosque I would definitely do so. But it is too easy to post miraculous healings here, without seeing the perspective and asking further questions because everyone has their own religion. CPHU seems to me to be the place to try to dissect together these phenomena. and also the possible placebo effects.
the point is, you don't need to believe in science because the reproducible experience proves scientific fact. When you need very specialized enlightened authorities, deafening propaganda and censorship to make it count, this science looks more like a religion you have to believe in.
Experimentation it also applies to an inexplicable phenomenon such as spontaneous healing or miracles .
Man has always experienced “miracles “ since the very ancient times of the Vedic civilization where all medicine was based on the fact that the spirit could heal the body through the mind. A knowledge lost and corrupted over time.
Both science and religion have been abused by authorities and its users as it suits them for centuries. That was already the case with the Vedic civilisation and that certainly also applies to the current Christian “civilisation”. Critically monitoring this, as well as scientific developments and applications, seems to me to be an essential part of CPHU.
Understand me correctly, I am a fairly spiritually minded person myself, but I also want to study in which cultural context you should place philosophy and exercises in the Qigong that I practice. It is precisely with Qigong that it is about the relationship between body and mind with 'miraculous' results for me. We may never be able to fathom some phenomena, but looking for a scientific explanation is important to the development of our own Ayurveda. But perhaps more importantly, first providing the necessary care for the relief/healing of our complaints whether that's because of science, religion, or placebo.

That's for sure! 👌Rediger gives a fascinating insight into how we, doctors and patients, are programmed to ignore the ‘unbelievable'. It reads like a thriller!
The problem with believing the unbelievable is that very often, sorry, it is not live and let live, it is live and let die. If you pictch to the point that somebody who needs real help actually believes you, and loses their chance for benefit because of the delay caused by listening and heeding to your advice, if you don't mind having that on your conscience, that's probably because you might not have one.
As I said, stay vigilant. Not only for rigid religious views, but also doctors who offer nothing more than a nocebo or don't bother to look beyond their noses long, vage alternative healers with “cheap” supplements and therapies, the scientists who help pharmaceuticals market with far too expensive low-effective drugs with too many side effects, etc. Indeed without conscience. But let's make that debateable to separate the wheat from the chaff. In all these groups there are people who do their utmost to do their job with passion without unhealthy profit and try to alleviate our misery and to give us hope. 🙏
Its not either/or religion or science. There is repeatable science that I'd suggest most spiritual people also accept.
The thing is there is very little repeatable science explaining life. So we come down to 'theoretical science ' which is theory based on limited knowledge. Many of these scientists are constantly in conflict and disproving each other and are as dogmatically obsessive as religeous folk. Scientists, after generations of study still cannot fully understand/cure cancer, parkinsons,...even a simple virus. Yet they doggedly claim to understand the origins of the universe; how gravity works; how black holes work...etc.
Before arrogantly ridiculing the power of mans/woman's spirit the huge limitations of science should be acknowledged.
I actually believe in belief (many documented faith healings -PD I don’t know) it’s just challenging to get there. For the healing to happen belief needs to be total surrender to the greater power, whether it be a celestial being or the universe or nature or whatever, surrender body and mind, healing is possible. This is beyond thinking about it or willing it to happen.
Yes, it’s the “placebo effect” which is a powerful phenomenon that IMHO, is treated in a way too offhand manner. We can’t will it to happen. But can we understand it better and create the conditions for it?
There are many out there with programs that try to do just this. Some people heal fully or partially (Park Bear and qigong?). Joe Dispenza? The Hope Shortcut? And of course every spiritual tradition has its faith healings.

Let's add the fact that "scientists" are terrified of the placebo effect, they don't know what it is due to, but they know it exists , they do everything possible not to highlight it in the trials and they are unable to do so. In any case, the point is that the placebo effect can be tested with the scientific method even if apparently it doesn't concern materialistic mechanics, but it is a product of the human mind under precise survival expectations of the human being. This is fascinating and tells us that even non-mechanistic phenomena can be measured and experienced as real as everything else in human … If we ever want to do that.
Maybe the ancients already knew it but as often happens, knowledge can be lost or corrupted for different interests as in the recent cases of our health authorities, who have come to vaccinate the healed pwp like me, which is extremely dangerous and unscientific.
