I spend much of my day with a laptop in my lap. After a couple hours my left hip begins to ache. Never the right hip or leg. I sit in a rocker/recliner chair. I could move to the kitchen table and probably will but I'm curious whether anyone using a laptop has developed pain in one or both legs. Also the kitchen chairs are all wood. In the short-term not as comfortable as the rocker/recliner.

Laptop causing pain?
is that your PD affected side?
What happens if you take a walk, does that relieve it?
I would venture a guess that the position you are sitting in is the cause rather than the laptop itself. But possibly the weight of the laptop is affecting a nerve?
Very possibly could be the position, I get that a lot because I love to lean to the left and eventually that continued on relief pressure of my weight causes pain and I'm virtually certain it's because of the continued unrelieved pressure on my joints and also restricted blood flow from the compression as well being in that one position so long. This is one where if you hear hoof beats then think horses not zebras.
it’s not the iPad is the Wi-Fi. I have noticed that Wi-Fi makes my symptoms worse . I live near a 5g tower and since 3 months I have noticed that when I am away from my home and in the countryside away from EMF pollution I am 75% better . I will move away from this house . If you need to work try this :
Do not position the laptop directly on your body but use that little stand ,
Try to work off line as much as possible and then only connect when necessary
Try to eliminate/avoid EMF pollution.
5g and 4g are electromagnetic signals. Our brain works with electromagnetic signals, so does our whole body . It is obvious that those frequencies influence the messages that we receive .
Let us know if you find this is correct and you have no more pain without Wi-Fi .
All the best ,
L
I agree that this could be the cause, plus the laptop itself by sitting on his lap is irradiating it’s electric field onto his body. A bit of distance in between the laptop and the body could help. Using the laptop on a table is a good idea.
Thanks for the help, I've had imbalances in the hips for 20 years. This video may explan the problem:youtube.com/watch?v=hYMRDq8...
get up and move every half hour or so. Our bodies aren’t made for sitting fir so long. Also, if your recliner is soft, that isn’t so good for back and hips. Kitchen chair sound better.
Very possibly could be the position, I get that a lot because I love to lean to the left and recline on the couch to the left, eventually that continued unrelieved pressure of my weight causes pain and I'm virtually certain it's because of the continued unrelieved pressure on my joints and also restricted blood flow from the compression as well being in that one position so long, also some pushing or compressing on a nerve. So shift off every so often or get up and move around a bit. Someone else said deeper or softer pillows, good additional idea. You have less collagen and other padding anyway in your bony butt as you get older too. This is one where if you hear hoof beats then think horses not zebras.
