the act of chewing increases your digestive enzymes. But sugar free gum can raise your insulin because your body thinks food is coming and thinks it will be sweet bc your mouth is sensing sweetness.

Good point. Do you know which sweeteners this does not apply to? But the act of just chewing does increase digestive enzymes (good) but can (according to Dr. Boz) increase insulin. She referenced personal experience and patience experiencing this.
