I've been throwing up a lot lately after I take gabapentin. I stopped taking it yesterday it was so painful, it was like a chemical burn came up and was making me worse as I was throwing up. Any idea what is working? I do take a combination turmeric with ginger and black pepper 1900 mg daily and I have noticed my pain is getting better the Dr. Had me taking 7- 300mg gabapentin daily for RLS

Meds not working
I was prescribed GABA for pain - as I went from 100, 200, and by 300 I had terrible diarrhea. Worked back down to none, after reading side effects. Except it hasn’t gone, away 3 wks later.
Why are you messing around with meds, when they do nothing positive for PD? Start walking and slowly build up your speed and distance and rid yourself of the PD. IT COSTS NOTHING! Just effort. I have lived with PD for 30 years now and at the age of 99 I am still fit and strong and living a normal life.
Thank you for that that was really interesting to read the only thing is that I have severe osteoarthritis and osteoporosis I need two hip replacements and two knee replacements I'm in a wheelchair now
I'm afraid I cannot help your problems. You have my sympathy! Don't give up!

John pepper I just wanted to give you an update on our last conversation I have had my hips replaced and my knee has been replaced as well so I have three severe total replacements I'm no longer in the wheelchair I am walking with a walker or a cane my hip is or my leg rather is a half an inch shorter than the other one so I walk with a limp but I am getting better day by day I just wanted to thank you for all of your information and your support
sorry this is happening to you. I'm no exert, but would absolutely listen to my body if it was rejecting any medicine. I have heard of meds making things worse for some people and don't believe all meds fit all symptoms they are meant for. Sounds like your body likes the turmeric though.
I was given gabapentin. I use it for emergencies only. Maybe once a month. It’s very powerful, I can’t imagine taking it regularly

Diarrhea and vomiting are known side effects of Gabapentin :
nhs.uk/medicines/gabapentin...
If the dose of pepper is high enough in your Curcumin/Ginger supplement, it may be working against your recovery from Gabapentin as spicy foods such as pepper can cause stomach upset, especially when your digestive system has been perturbed by the use of Gabapentin.

Ginger is generally known to have calming effects on the digestive system, but again, the pepper may be working against that benefit.

You don't say what dose of Turmeric you are taking for its anti inflammatory effects, but high dose and or longer term use can also cause gastrointestinal upset in some people and probably more so in the wake of your Gabapentin side effects.

It might be worth holding off on the T/G/P until your stomach calms a bit. The 1900 mgs seems like a fairly high dose.
You can consider vitamins B6 and possibly B12 to see if they may help calm your gastro issues and alleviate the vomiting, but it may be helpful to take B6 away from levodopa products.
