exercise in PD

have just returned from a 6 mile walk along the south west coast path here in sunny Cornwall. At several points I had to remind myself to walk upright, swing that arm , lift those feet. Am at home now knackered drinking a beer and feeling mentally good even though my arm is still shacking like a wind vane in a hurricane, it has taken me several attempts to write this but I have at last.

Keep up the fight.

good on you, and a beautiful part of the county to go jogging in, best of luck.

Also in sunny Cornwall, 6 miles is good going on the coast path, plenty of ups and downs in places. We are trying to eventually walk the whole of the Cornwall part. Go camping regularly to walk the bits further from home. Best medicine going!

i agree , we have managed to walk most of it in small sections,. Not brave enough to do the camping bit though

Oh yes sorry I gave the impression we are camping while walking. No we just stay in campsites , walk out one way (often as far as a convenient pub!) and back along path , then go the other way the next day. Does mean we end up doing everything twice though! Planning to do some bits by getting bus from a campsite up coast a bit then walk back. Even less hardy we are ‘camping’ in a campervan not tenting it any more! Mainly about Penzance to St Ives remaining left to do with a few gaps elsewhere also.

haha, sounds very similar to what we are doing let's of there and back, do feel you get a different perspective on the scenery on the return *leg or it could just be the beer. Regarding the walks I do love the Mousehole to lamorna stretch, and the campervan sounds ideal.

Exercise is great for PD,but targeted exercises can help a lot more.We did a form of PD warrior exersizes in a course run by a girl called Sasha Baggaley in Edinburgh ( she has stuff on U tube) The results have been impressive, and the ability to do things like longer walks have improved greatly.Once you have the exercises in place you need to do them daily, but worth the effort.
