itching: does anyone have Itching without... - Cure Parkinson's
itching
I do have dry skin on my back-I’m not sure that this is Parkinson’s related. The problem, however, could be Parkinson’s linked in that my stiffness makes it impossible to turn over in bed meaning that my back becomes sweaty and hence dry and itchy’]. I use Aveeno moisturiser though it is a bit pricey.
My head itches a lot but I haven't found anything for it yet. I saved your post just in case someone comes up with anything. 🥊
Im trying to send u a picture of what i use but im a bit techno clumsy. Stop itching from day one. Its related to malasezzia fungus. Common in pwp. From Clever soap 2% zinc pyrithione. I got it in amazon.co.uk. shampoo bar. Vegan.
Not sure I have Parkinson's have a tremor left side I cannot seem to get rid of and my latest CT scan came back with
"There is generalised cerebral atrophy with prominent bilateral enlargement of the lateral ventricles, more than expected for patient's age."
I am advanced stage 3 decompensated liver cirrrhosis with ascites, I was searching for itchy skin which is a known issue with billirubin being too high.
Just wanted to mention this amazing cream they have me on it's called Menthol 1% in Aqueouscream" takes the edge off the itch for a while, annoyingly I cannot really rub it on my back, have to wait until I am in the hospital again.
Am not advertising, just trying to be helpful 😀
Spend a little time looking into melatonin and liver cirrhosis. Here is one review to get you started :

Here is a relevant quote from the review :
' Current evidence shows that MT protects against liver injury by inhibiting oxidation, inflammation, HSC proliferation and hepatocyte apoptosis, thereby inhibiting the progression of liver cirrhosis. '
And while you're at it look into melatonin and cerebral atrophy. Here is one to get you started. Only an animal study, but that will often be the case in this realm of brain issues :
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl....
Here is a relevant quote from the study :
' The findings of this study indicate that systemic melatonin treatment can reduce long-term brain atrophy and can reverse striatal and cognitive functional deficits back to near-normal levels. '
