This morning I woke and showered and prepared for two appointments. One at Hartford Health for Tai chi and one with my primary care doc. At 2PM I was back . An hour later I went to bed. When I next woke I thought it was 4AM. That explained why it was still dark out. I started coffee then turned on the TV for morning news. When I saw a late evening show I realized it was 10PM. I had lost a day. Now it's 11PM and because of the coffee I'm wide awake. Normally I'd take a melatonin and get ready for bed. But I'd like to know where the day went.
Why did I go to bed at 3PM? Why did I wake at 10PM and think it was a new day? Is this a new PD sign?

It seems like your day and night have gotten reversed. It may be a new symptom of the disease. However, it does not really sound like you missed a whole day, just half. When you went to bed it was 3 PM, and woke up it was 7 hours later - 10 PM. I doubt it was 10 PM the following day - 31 hours later. How could you think it was 4 AM. Don't you have clocks?
Thanks for the note. The event was quite disorienting. I woke believing it was early morning. Without my glasses I can't read the clock on the wall. The fact that it was dark outside had me thinking about an eclipse or a bad storm about to happen. But not that it was evening. When the TV convinced me the feeling of disorientation was severe. I'm still wondering where the day went. On top of Rytary I take metoprolol, a beta blocker that treats hypertension. Perhaps that was the cause of the disorientation?
No, that just happens, sometimes, especially when one gets overtired, and has to lay down to rest, at unusual times. It has happened to me! It’s like my brain wants to just shut down, for a bit, and I fall instantly to sleep.
are you on rytary because this is happening to me and 2 others who are on rytary. we are scared to death..i know this can happen with any of the pd meds but im finding a common thread with rytary.... thank you. hang tough....
