Last night I went to bed at 1AM and was up at 5AM. Then had Tai Chi class at 8AM. Then came home and worked on the motorbike for a few hours. Then took a hap. . I woke up with no idea what day or time it was. The sun was out so I assumed I'd slept through the night and it was now Friday. But the laptop, cell phone and TV all screamed, 'Thursday!' This has happened to me two or three times before.

I have a large clock on the wall in the kitchen that has a third hand and it is red and points to days of the week with Sunday at top dead centre. It runs on battery and unlike every other clock in the house it is always right. I recommend it. I also have experienced times of confusion, unsure if the times on the other clocks were AM or PM. ( too small to see) On my wall clock each day is not a dot it is a long slot with 12 noon in the middle and 7days filling in 360 degrees . Check out your local hardware store. Now if it just had a cuckoo bird.

The inability to sense how much time has passed during sleep is definitely a part of normal aging. Young people have a great internal clock during sleep.
I have no idea how much time has passed when I wake up, and I have read that is normal.
I had what you describe a few years ago, but not lately. It seems like medications could make it worse.
On the offchance that it could be the problem I had transient global amnesia once. Apparently I'll never remember what I missed, it's not that common thankfully as it was a rather upsetting time. More common in men exercising or people in very cold water so it doesn't sound like you but thought I'd mention it in case
