I'm going to try and do a 48 hour water (and maybe bone broth) fast starting Friday at 7 PM.

Good luck. If you aren't in the Zoom meeting Sunday, shall I call an ambulance? (My wife and I are starting a 24 hour water fast today at 7 pm.)

What are the benefits of a 24-hour water fast?

How will you manage all your supplements and medication? Will you fast from the supplements too?

I am still working out the supplements. I am thinking I will keep up my Niacin and PEA and maybe pause the others.

I will continue my Prozac and Levoxyl.

At age 68 I think I'm too old for a 48 hour fast - bone broth would be a very different proposition but there's no fibre for the microbiome. My resolution is to do without snacks altogether - just 3 meals with no calories at all between them in order to decrease insulin spiking and hopefully get some autophagy happening when the intervals between meals are longer. I'm finding that having healthy fats at each meal means I don't need to eat between meals.

After you've gone without snacks for a bit, try one meal a day! That's really not hard. Another idea: ease into it by skipping breakfast. Or, eating keto for a day or two, then fasting for a couple days. (Keto gets your body primed for a fast.)

You are not too old!

I do these sometimes.. when it comes time for the supplements with food, I take with a tablespoon of coconut oil or MCT oil to try to help ketosis... I know this may affect mitophagy, though.

I only went 44 hours. It was not difficult. I should have drank more water.

That meal looks tasty!

I don't have many symptoms. I am not diagnosed. I had felt a little better from stopping Berberine recently. Berberine lowers your BP and I was getting light headed a lot when standing. Much better since I stopped Berberine.

On the fast, mostly hunger. Then near the end I sat around a lot because I am not good at waiting for things and I was waiting to eat.

I fasted from 9 PM Thu to 5 PM last Saturday, and had REM Sleep Behavior Disorder episodes Sun, Mon, and Tue night, which is a lot for me. I kicked the wall Tue night. I have been good the last two nights. I went off my diet and also had a lot of Pepsi and missed my bedtime by 4 hours on the fourth of July. That is most likely what exacerbated my RBD. I guess it was worth it. My sister in-law has a house right across the street from the fireworks at the park: youtu.be/DBHzNPxJR1g

Thanks Bolt_Upright for sharing this experience and the others as well.

For us who explore the terra incognita of the PD they are important and very stimulating. You're a good person.

In my opinion it is good that you came out of berberin. I tell you that in floriculture I used these substances for the disinfection of surfaces in greenhouses to eliminate bacteria and fungi.

Beautiful fireworks. some resemble astrocytic neurons in large.

Greetings from Italy Gio

Thank you Gio. I'm glad I bailed on Berberine too. And I am happy you joined us at Sonia's fireworks show :)
