"5. Conclusions

These findings suggest that oral microbiota could be associated with the development of PD. Firmicutes and Actinobacteria dominated the oral cavity microbiome in both examined groups. Patients with PD stand out with a higher concentration of phylum Bacteroidetes, and the healthy controls were recognizable because of the significant participation of Proteobacteria."

What a study! Extremely interesting, at the very least one can compare food choices as presented by Dr. Mischley's study and food choices in this study. Thank you for posting. Mary

My husband had an analysis of faecal bacteria when he was first diagnosed and he had very high levels of aerobes relative to anaerobes which are the type found on the skin and in the mouth and practically no bifodobacterium or lactobacillus. It would be interesting to recheck now but it is expensive.
