Came across this when reading up on castor oil which I have been using successfully to treat eyelid inflammation (blepharitis). I'm also going to try using it as an oral rinse for dry mouth, since it is supposed to help with that also.
I don't have PD or loss of sense of smell & can't attest to its efficacy in that regard.

I use organic castor oil drops for dry eyes, don't know that I have the stomach to use castor oil for dry mouth. Oil pulling with coconut (organic) oil helps and you can put a drop of peppermint oil in it.
I did it, it was fine. Maybe it helped a bit last night with dry mouth. I have a sore spot at the back of my tongue that seems much better today. I also put it on the tip of my nose which has been getting sore. And also put it in my ear since I have a terrible sore spot in my left ear canal also - I don't recommend anyone do this even though it worked since as they say - don't stick anything in your ear except your elbow. I'm just desperate since I've put off going to the doctor due to the pandemic (and also just hating going to the doctor).
I have an appointment with a gastro next week that got switched to telemedicine due to impending doom - I mean inclement weather. I am worried the power will go out. We have solar, but have not bought batteries yet so we are still dependent on the grid functioning even in the daytime because of how it is set up.
I've been thinking I will just go for it and do castor oil packs on a regular basis since it seems to do something for my inflammation problems. Soon I'll be the castor oil version of Dale Gribble from King of the Hill - 'zinc picolinate in every orifice'.
