I am delighted to announce that our next zoom session will be taking place at 7.30 pm London time on Monday, the 10th of January.

Dr Simon Stott will be talking to us about his main PD research takeaways from 2021 and research results he will be looking for in 2022.

Dr Stott is the Deputy Director of Research at Cure Parkinson's. The trust is an international supporter of both lab- and clinic-based research on Parkinson's. Originally from New Zealand, Dr Stott has 20 years of experience in the field of Parkinson's research - in both the academic and biotech sectors. He has been involved in lab-based research as well as clinical studies. He also maintains the 'Science of Parkinson's' website (scienceofparkinsons.com), which attempts to explain in plain English the research currently being conducted on Parkinson's.

My main takeaway of 2021 is that COVID 19 has brushed away all the research initiatives and already in-progress trials related to Parkinson's. The research wheel has been revolved back by at least 2 years. I used to read research stories till late nights. Now I have stopped that and go to bed early. First my rough estimate was that the cure by 2049, now that has become blurry and fuzzy
