Near Infrared vs Far Infrared

I just read an article about near vs Far Infrared saunas. Does anyone know much about the Far? To me, the Far seems even better?

"Near infrared units tend to promote topical healing and mild pain relief quite effectively, but far infrared heating units are incredibly effective at removing toxins, improving circulation, and relaxing the muscles. Most experts agree that if you’re really looking to get the maximum therapeutic benefits from your sauna session you’ll want to go for a unit that offers all three spectrum. These are called Full Spectrum saunas and offer near, mid and far infrared*

For Parkinson's near infrared will stimulate mitochondria, the cells known to affect PD. Far infrared stimulates blood vessels in muscles, heating up the area like a heating pad does. I could have this backward.

Thanks for sharing. I will check mine to see if it is a full spectrum sauna. I got it at a home show about 3years ago for about $3800. It was delivered by ups and my husband and son in law put it together in a couple of hours. The brand is Health Mate.

Near infrared penetrates farther into the body. It may help the brain, and the various bucket/helmet etc led red light devices are near infrared.

Far infrared helps circulation and detox, makes you sweat (if you’re hydrated).

The Vielight, which i think is near infared ,worked to help my husband retain his cognitive abilities. He was able to play chess again after using it.

I listened to some podcasts on saunas and it seemed one important thing is to be sure it is made of materials that don’t release fumes and don’t emit harmful radiation so best avoid some of the cheaper brands.
