Latest sleep over the counter sleep aids?
I've read comments on the raypeatforum about Apigenin taken at bedtime helping with sleep. My husband sleeps well after starting thiamin.
My husband has Parkinson's, I don't as yet though I believe I'm at risk because my father had Parkinson's and his brother had Gaucher's Disease which means my father's Parkinson's almost certainly involved being heterozygous for the Gaucher's gene (and I have a 50 per cent chance of having inherited that gene). I'm 67 and my sleep has been a mess for the past few years with waking in the small hours and being unable to get back to sleep for a couple of hours, and then needing to sleep in. In the past couple of months I've had great sleep from taking 3 glycine capsules, each 1000mg, at bedtime. I may wake in the night, possibly after a hot flush, but go back to sleep quickly and awaken refreshed in the morning.
Thank you goldengrove!
That sounds Amazing. How did you find out about it? Your doctor?
I will talk to my doctor tomorrow and let you know what happens.

Sorry I only just saw your question, Mogul1.I found out about 3g glycine at bedtime for sleep issues when trawling through Internet, not in connection with PD specifically. Since I've been using it, I've become convinced that glycine is good for the brain and probably good for glucose metabolism too. If you google glycine for sleep, it all seems pretty positive though I haven't come across references to glycine specifically for sleep issues in PwP.
