Try lithium Orotate (LiOr). Start with 5mg LiOr a day and increase the dosage if you find the effect is not strong enough for you. I personally take 35mg/day. Avoid the brand KAL, the dosage of their tabs are not clear (normally the dosage should mention the mg of LiOr and lithium element (eg LiOr 130mg for 5mg of lithium element).
Anxiety was a huge issue for me since a short time before I got diagnosed with PD. I believe that it is not psychological, but rather a result of the neurotransmitter imbalance inherent in PD. Having a really high stress job certainly didn't help. I have to agree with Chris1960-2 that Lithium orotate supplementation may be helpful, I take 3 x 4.6mg every morning. But the thing that helped me the most was leaving my job and activating my disability insurance policy. No more money worries and job related stress!
Good luck to you ! I know from experience that there is nothing worse than crippling, unfounded anxiety.
Bass, that is so well said! Anxiety was one of the symptoms I had quite a while before I knew what my problem was. I had never had to deal with that before and it was very unsettling. Starting on Lexapro helped, also I have Xanax if I really can't sleep due to my brain not quieting or something happens that throws me into anxious mode. I find with PD I simply don't have the wherewithal to deal with stressful situations. I think it is very important that we organize our lives in such a way so as to avoid as much stress as we can.
I always described it as though I felt like I was in fight or flight mode all the time.
How might anxiety differ from frustration? After a year of PD I've come to realize it ain't going away... deal with it. I take Rytary and Duloxetine 60mg. I think the duloxetine prevents "suicidal ideation". I still don't think I have a neurologic condition, Mainly because of no balance or slowness signs.
"deal with it"? My friend, I don't think you understand the power of a neurotransmitter imbalance over emotional health. That's like telling a person with clinical depression to just snap out of it or turn that frown upside down. It just doesn't work like that. Neurotransmitter imbalances don't listen to reason.
