What is it?

It’s a massage mat- with lots of spikey things supposedly very good for stiffness

I don't have PD but I do have tight muscles and for me, yes they work great. I have a mat, pillow, collar pillow and hot water bottle with the plastic acupressure points.

I use mine daily. My daughter-in-law purchased one for my birthday 14 months ago. Being a nurse, she investigated what could help my PD. I use it to relieve my restless leg. Takes a little getting used to the spikes. Now it is just part of my routine.

I bought the Bulletproof one a few years ago - it's amazing as are the regular shakti mats you can get for about a quarter of the price.

I read your question earlier and decided to buy one for my husband with PD. He was skeptical, but 2 days later, being low on meds and stiff, he asked for it. It is extremely uncomfortable at first (I love it). But he has been lying on it now for about 20 minutes and is snoring. When he wakes up, I'll ask him if it helped with the stiffness, but in the meanwhile, his body relaxed enough on the mat to fall asleep. If you can get YouTube on your phone or laptop, I highly recommend you find a channel (or get the app) called Calm. They have a 10 minute meditation called Comfort and Care, and the presenter guides you through a meditation to relax your body and mind. I played this for him to help him relax on the mat. The mat is supposed to kick in your endorphins, but we'll see. If anything, he has forgotten about being stiff. I also recommend you do the mat on the bed and not the floor since the bed has some give and not as uncomfortable as on the floor.

Thanks- I bought one a couple of days ago and I’m loving it- if just started with a slight back issue so it arrived at the perfect time. I do 20 minutes before bed ( on the bed)

Is this still working well for you? Which one do you have? Has anyone else tried one?

I got one for Christmas... I still use it a few times in a week on the bed and it helps my back pain. I also got the pillow but don't use it (yet) as neck is ok at the moment.I got it from shaktimat.co.uk as their ethos is great - fulfilling employment, fair wages etc.
