I’ve been sent this for anyone following the progress of this little device. Do not ask me any questions about it! I only know what you can read here!...

Dear All,

As we prepare for our upcoming launch of the CUE1, we wanted to share with you just some of the updates from us and our community, and give you an idea of what to expect too.

The CUE1’s Launch

The 250 units which will make up our initial launch of the CUE1 are now in production. With this crucial step, we are even closer to bringing your CUE1 to you.

We have also been busy visiting South Korea in preparations for an upcoming clinical trial. Through this double-blind, randomised control trial, we will gain a fuller understanding of the CUE1’s effect on a long-term basis, ensuring the final product benefits users as much as possible.

JMD Publications and features in Neuroscience Nursing

The Journal of Movement Disorders recently published the first peer-reviewed case report on the CUE1: ‘Focused Vibrotactile Stimulation with Cueing Effect on Freezing of Gait in Parkinson’s Disease: Two Case Reports’. As always, this was made possible by the dedication of people with Parkinson’s who kindly agreed to participate. The British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing have also published a feature looking at Charco and what the device could do for people with Parkinson's.

This week also saw the release of a new animation: an informative short film sharing Charco’s story, from our origins through to the development of the CUE1 and our mobile app. To Eastern AHSN, a network which supports and guides innovative new technologies into the NHS, we give a special thank you; without you this would not have been possible.

Charco Events

After everything you, our community, have given us to help develop the CUE1, we are keen to give back to you. With this in mind, we will be launching a run of Charco community events. These will be free-to-attend, online events catering to people with and around Parkinson’s. We are working to build a full schedule, with the first of these sessions expected to focus on improvement techniques for micrographia (small handwriting). If you would be interested in these events, please register here so that we can keep you informed.

As always, we would be delighted for you to join us for the Charco Open Day, taking place this Thursday 23rd September, at 3pm UK time (BST). Please join the Open Day using the button below:

With Love,

I’m surprised there isn’t more excitement about this on here. A non invasive device that could help mobility sounds great
