Recommendation for Indoor Cycling Equipment?

My only experience with indoor cycling is a regular bicycle on a stand, with adjustable resistance. I'm ready to upgrade to something nicer. Any recommendations as to brand or things to look for? (I've no experience with 'spinning' and not even certain how it may differ from cycling.)

As far as I know, the Wattbikes are the best.

But they are professional equipment, and expensive.

I also find them noisy.

Just my 2 cents

Just get a spin bike that’s mid range budget. The important thing is to have one that indicates RPM as I believe that one’s target ought to be 80rpm for the duration.

I agree. I also think high cadance is essential. I would also recommend a spinning bike which drives the pedals (the pedals keeps moving driven by the spinning flywheel if you remove your feets from the pedals). With low resistance you will get help from the flywheel to obtain high cadence. It should be higher than what you would have chosen volountary.

With a Wattback, the resistance from the fan will make it harder to obtain and keep high cadence.
