Hello, I am wondering if anyone has a superannuation fund that has TPD that covers PD.
Since my mum got diagnosed in her 40s, my siblings and I (who do not have PD) are classified by the superannuation funds as high risk for getting PD and won’t include it in the TPD insurance.
If anyone knows any superannuation funds that does include PD in the TPD insurance cover that would be awesome. I’ve tried Hesta and Australian Super and sadly they’ve both excluded cover.

I don’t remember being asked any questions when I joined Australian Super. The insurance just came automatically. In fact you had to contact them if you didn’t want it. I assume it covers me for PD, though the amount is only around $25K.
Ask them if they would cover it if you do a genetic test to see if you have the PD gene and it comes back negative. Most cases aren’t genetically passed on. Is there other family members eg grandparents with it?
And in the meantime make sure you follow healthy lifestyle recommendations for diet, and exercise, eliminate any unnatural additives in your diet, make sure your home is free from pesticides and toxic chemicals and make sure your blood test results are in the recommended ranges for b vitamins and vitamin d and top up with a high quality multi nutrient if they aren’t.
