Hello all! Question for any of you out there that have had their metals tested. Do you have a good at home kit that I could order that is good in the United States in particular New York State?.
I keep finding many kits that are good but unfortunately my state will not allow most of them to be shipped in or out. Any information would be greatly appreciate!

I bought a home test for my water to test for Manganese from Amazon, I didn't trust the results and rightly so, when I had an environmental company test it, the results did not match the ones on the home test. I recommend seeking out a proper company to test your water
I called both the state (Indiana, DNR) and our county health office to ask who they would recommend. They both gave me a couple companies to call, and they were the same. I went with a company that did the testing for the city I Iive near. My well water did have some Mn, but within EPA allowable limits. I bought a Berkey water system and tested the water again. It did eliminate the Mn. However, I wish now I had bought an under sink reverse osmosis water system. I think it might have been even better. The web site is envirotestkits.com . I called them and they made a recommendation on what test kit to order depending on what I wanted tested. Good luck.
I went to a local naturopath and had them order a DMSA-based heavy metals test. It was very helpful. I then repeated the test 6 months later after completing a DMSA-based treatment program. Levels were greatly reduced.
The short answer is yes. But it has taken quite a bit of work and time on my part.
I am into my sixth year of Parkinson’s. I have been able to avoid the use of any drugs, other than basic supplements like high-dose B1. I am 67 and do not show any signs of tremor or other more troublesome symptoms. But I definitely have other Parkinson’s symptoms, just to a lesser degree than most PWP.
My heavy metals test from a few years ago showed extremely high levels of mercury and lead. It took me about one year of treatment to get these levels down into the safe zone. But I believe the high levels caused brain damage, leading to the Parkinson’s. I believe my brain is gradually healing, but it will take more time.
One extremely useful test I did was to test food sensitivity. Turns out I was sensitive to a number of very basic foods I was consuming, including eggs, almonds, cashews, and peas. From eliminating these foods, I discovered that quite a few of my Parkinson’s symptoms began to go away. These foods were causing inflammation.
This has been my experience so far. I hope this information is useful to you.
What did the tests involve? I had a test called an older scan that shows if you have heavy metal issues? Don't know how reliable it is but it showed that I have high levels of gadolinium aluminum and a couple other ones. You might want to Google to see for accuracy. What does a test you're recommending involve? Thank you for your help
Not sure if you’ve solved your issue of finding tests? Heavy metals can be tested with urine, blood and hair. Each type tells you something different although I cannot explain it you. I’d recommend working with an ND dr or functional MD to help you with this and know which test(s) best for you. Since you can’t get the test in NY, are you able to get to a neighboring state to purchase test? Maybe have it sent to a friend or relative there?
I just did a “provoked” urine test. Your dr will give you pills to take before collection. Send to lab via UPS. You would likely have to cross state lines again to send yours back? Results go to your dr. There are several labs that do these tests, my test was from Doctor’s Data lab, if it helps you research for yourself. My dr for this is in Mexico, I live in AZ. I recommend working with a practitioner to deal with HM! Hope this helps.
Thanks my pcp and movement specialist and neurologist aren't interested in using these tests. I asked about neurotransmitter test and heavy metals. They were not interested in ordering the test. Still looking for a functional dr.
