A new GP

Not new as in young but new to us and new residents of Connecticut. I've been to two neurologists since moving here but the GP has been closed til now. My wife describes her as, "Crunchy granola..." I guess that means very new age. She has a deprivation tank, a salt soak tank, a red light sauna and a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. She says the hyperbaric chamber is for Parkinson's patients. When I walked in the waiting room the first thing I saw was an MJ leaf two feet tall. She signed me up with the state for a MJ card. Tomorrow I go back for blood work. Including aluminum and manganese blood levels.

Hi! She sounds fabulous! Do you have the info for the doctor? I’m in the north east. My well intentioned GP is very ignorant. No joke, her recommendation for my PD was orange juice.

Saw the neuro today for Botox injections. Several shots into and around the left elbow and forearm. I expected it to act as lidocaine, ie numbing the muscles. Not so. She said look for improvements in five days. She had said the first treatment would be mild, if no problems develop further treatments might be somewhat stronger.

What is the Botox supposed to do ?

I dunno. It's labeled as treatment for spasticity. I asked about that. She says it works for tremor, has used it for that purpose for several years. It's been 24 hours and no change in the arm tremor so far.

while at my appointment yesterday:

i noticed that my neurologist treats ppl with Botox and i enquired about it (not for myself) he says he uses it for people who basically can't move, eyes locked shut, that kind of thing. he says they get good results.while there, i also asked him about high dose Thiamine therapy. he laughed and said" they are allowed to do all kinds of things in Italy that we can't do here".(Canada)

I'm doing it anyway. started today. 1g daily to start. 500mg in am , 500mg at noon.

wish me luck !

I envy you! Medical Marijuana and Reiki, both highly recommended. I live in the wrong state. . . :)

Just don't use your own cash. For now anyway.

I knew this shrink once, one of his patients said he was having some troubling thoughts.

Jones: I've been thinking about hurting myself, well, just sort of. Can something be done?

Dr: Surely. But we must take it seriously. (Picks up the phone)

Dr: Miss Parker? Yes about Mr. Jones. From now on, cash in advance.

Jones (nonplussed): Don't call me Shirley.

I’m in New Canaan, other side of the state. Your also in a beautiful town, close to RI.

Sounds like a hike.

I also have a Medical Marijuana card. I’ve been buying THC oil. 5/6 drops chills the tremor. My neurologist wouldn’t give me one so I went on line.

The Country Dr.’s CBD is pricey but looks like farm to table good quality. Maybe I’ll try it to open a channel of communication.

Thanks for the tip. Joey
