Iqbaliqbal,

To this date, my husband hasn't experienced constipation or GI problems. I believe this theory is not 100% true.

I developed chronic bloating of my stomach with extreme tightness in my chest about six weeks ago. Now it is permanently tight, bloated even with virtually no food intake. Best guess from DRs (nothing from my neurologist) is gastroparesis. I do have daily bowel movement from the little food I do eat so not constipated. Is it from Parkinsons or Diabetic. I will check my blood sugar and verify one way or another. I look like I am ready to deliver ( I am a male). I will call the clinic. In just two years I was 100%, now I almost cannot walk. The side effects from the meds are not tolerable.

Have you considered Duopa as a means of smoothing out and reliably insuring delivery of CL?

Thank you Iqbaliqbal, very interesting. I have a problem with undigested medication, so gut and diet matter, although there is so much information that can be confusing (no animal or vegetable protein?) or downright contradictory (Keto or no dairy?). If only I could find a dietitian experienced in the vagaries of Parkinson’s!

Thank you for the link. Just sent an e-mail to the lead investigator regarding my positive experience with Motegrity.

Tnx for input. My situation is a bit more complicated then just fighting the issues of Parkinsons. I also have Global Peripheral Neuropathy and Geniculate neuralgia. I have found that Sinemat should not be over-used during the course of treatment. The side-effects can be far worse in future time. My new neurologist is titrating my doses of Comtan and Sinemet down and will completely end Comtan in the next month or so. (I actually feel better, I have more energy and in general the sacrifice of some "ON" time is a minimal issue. Both Sinemet and Comtan have as a side effect "Constipation". When this is combined with an individual who also has significant non-motor issues, the results are "bad news". I am one of these unlucky individuals. If not taken care of with timed laxatives, constipation quickly becomes an impaction followed by obstruction.
