I have just bought this for myself to remind me not to round my shoulders and keep my upper back straight. It is like one I keep getting ads for but much cheaper. It seems to be helping so far after trying for an hour!
I can tell straight away it is keeping my shoulders back. Hubby asked why I had the dog harness on🤣. You are supposed to wear it under clothes so then it’s not visible. It is comfortable.
Posture is really important. Both my shoulders hurt so much my arms have limited range of motion all the because of rounded shoulders -- so say my VA PD physical therapist and a muscle skeletal doctor. There is several exercises on YouTube about how to strengthen the four rotator cuff muscles, the best one is to squeeze your shoulder blades together and down and hold for 10 or 15 seconds many times per day.
I just got is similar elastic brace from the VA to hold my shoulders back. It doesn't hold my shoulders back, but it does continuously remind me to correct my posture.
If they are frozen it might not pin them back again. I have been doing the diaphragm release stretching for months now so mine will now move back and forward freely. It has definitely helped my breathing and blocked ear sensation. I think of all that fluid in my head carrying away all the cell debris. If it can’t drain away it must sit and fester in my head🤣. The GP thinks I’m nuts with my theories. This band does pull them back if they are flexible like mine now are.
I remember you said that The Arnica Rub by Nutrabio offered some relief for your shoulders. I think Stopain or Voltaren over the counter products may offer a bit more relief and alternating mag oil every other application or before shoulder stretching exercises may help to loosen the muscles and allow you to get more value and effect from any stretching exercises for your shoulders and related areas.
A bit of a warning on Stopain, it has a high menthol content which might be a little cool in the winter time, but refreshing in the warmer weather. Voltaren I would not apply to larger body areas as it is well absorbed topically. Just the shoulders if possible.
if you look at the pictures under overview one of them has a size chart. it seems quite accurate as I measured myself and saw I was on the cusp of small and medium and ordered medium. Sure enough it fits with the band overlapped the maximum amount.
i decided to give 'er a whirl...! should come in the mail in the next two weeks and will report back. i think posture is adding to my dad's imbalance sometimes. what is the apollo? my dad uses a red light too, but its not a hat.
So far the upright device is working well... the only thing is how much it annoys my dad with how much it buzzes! To me that's a good sign that instead of my mother or I reminding my dad to keep his posture up, its this little device, and doing it more often! It also means that its helping him balance better when he is out on a walk. I kind of want one for myself...
